Chick stuff

We had to move the meat birds out to the garage yesterday.

 Here's their new home. It's an old collapsible dog pen that I wrapped in cardboard and put in some heat lamps.

 They only get food for twelve hours because they will eat too much and start to have leg and heart problems.

 This is why we moved them. One week ago these two chicks were the same size. I was going to use the smallest Barred Rock chick and the biggest meat bird chick, but I didn't need to, because they were all pretty much the same size in each kind. Seven weeks and in the freezer.

Isn't this a lovely bucolic scene? Yes it is. Ta.
