Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.
Here's what it looked like this morning. Nine degrees below zero. Last year it was Seventy five above. The sap did not run last year.
Here's my trail out to the "Sugarbush". The snow is still deep and the farmer is still old, so it was a lot of work just to get out to the maples. I put out 25 taps this year, got the last few in on Friday morning and Friday afternoon it got up to 41. Went out late in the day and had about 3 tablespoons in one jug. Saturday it only got up to 28 and 9 below this morning. Supposed to be cold all week. Can't win.
In other news, here is my new truck in 2002 and....................
Here is the new one in 2013. Picked it up on Friday.
It has a lot of stuff that we wouldn't have ordered, but we got it at $10,000.00 under the sticker price, so we actually got about $9,000.00 worth of options for $300.00. It has bluetooth, so when someone calls me or I call them it's all hands free and voice activated. I can put in a phone number and say call Gramma and it does. Whoooaaa Dude! It has a backup camera and sensors so I won't back over anyone's cats or chickens or the garbage can. Whoa! It has the tire pressure monitoring system. How do they do that? 4wd of course and the Z71 off-road package. The engine shuts down some cylinders at cruising speeds to save fuel. It has remote start so I don't have to go out inthe cold to warm it up and too many other options to list here. I am very happy. It's awsome. Be good, be careful and beware of spider monkeys, they bite.
Nice truck!! Sure is purty. I showed Andrew the two truck pictures and he said, "Hmmmm . . . can I have another cookie?" He's impressed, I guess! You're spoiled now with the bells and whistles. :)
