AT&T Webmail

AT&T Webmail: "Well the sugaring is over for this year. Cooked the last batch yesterday and bottled it this morning. Went faster in the new pot. Did 20 gallons in less time than I did 12 before, so this is good. We also went by the boil and foam and spoon method when finishing it instead of the temperature method. Good choice. Best batch ever. Gramma said we should treat it like making fudge and she was right. She's so smart. (And cute too.) :-) So you might say we fudged it. We put it in the fridge as usual too cool and settle before we heat it and bottle it. So when I got up this morning I checked it. Now when you put it in fridge it always thickens a little, but this stuff was THICK. Like molasses. I couldn't believe it. So we finally got the perfect syrup on the last try. All the batches taste the same, but none got thick like this. So hopefully we'll get them all like this next year. Unfortunately we were out of small jars,so everyone gets the early, less thick stuff and we get the last batch. After all we did all the work. So when you get it and taste it, imagine it being real thick and that's what you'll get next year. If you're good. I'll be checking."
