Old slides

I found some old slides of our "Honeymoon". We stayed for a few days at a resort on Sand Lake by Deer River that Gramma's Grandparents used to own a resort on.
As you can see we "spared no expense" on luxurious accomodations.
Here's the "Bride" making us supper.
Here's the "Groom" doing what he does best. (PS. Don't tell anyone I was drinking Budweiser)
Relaxing in the "Living Room Suite".
Here's the "Bride" telling me to get the camera outta her face before she throws a fork at me. Just kidding. Does that face look like anyone else we know?
After the resort we met my folks at a campground on Bowstring lake for a couple of days cause the tent was free. Here's the "Bride with one of the fish she caught.
Here she is with another one of the fish she caught.
Here's the "Groom" wondering why he ever took a "Girl" fishing. The only way to escape having girls outfish you is took take them all the time and then they become just another fisher person and being a girl no longer counts in their favor. It's true, cross my heart. :-)

New scanner

Well I thought I would try out the new scanner. I had set some slides aside last year that I was going to try to to take pics of with the digital camera and a homemade light box. This is way easier.
As you can see we were always a fishing family.
 My Dad.
I guess I wasn't too lucky that day, but that's what always happens when you go fishing with girls.
 The Captain is in control.
Now you know why I like to hunt varmints, it runs in the family. My uncle Merrill in the middle and two of his hounds and two of his hunting buddies.
That's Clayton on the left, my Dad in the middle and uncle Merrill on his left. I recognise the other two guys but can't remember their names.
Me and my Grampa Berg at the tavern he used to own between here and Isle. It's a house now. Anyway the scanner works great and I'll work on more slides later. Bye

Pics from old slides

My sister and brother-in-law bought a scanner that can turn slides into pictures and it works pretty good.  So they sent us some and I don't think I've ever seen these. Anyway I thought you might enjoy some. Gramma and I just bought the same scanner, so when time permits we'll scan our slides. Should be interesting.

That's not really me playing with kittens, it's my twin brother Sven who ran away from home to join the New Guinea Scandahoovian Soccer Team. Hasta La Vista Baby.

Last night as a bachelor and other stuff

Well, Gramma got an early flight this morning. She called and said they could get out of there today.
So last night me and the dogs whooped it up. Awesome huh? I tried to get a poker game going, but they weren't haven't any of it. We miss Gramma.
Here's the new BBQ brush we got.
It uses a Chore Boy scrubber that can be easily replaced. This way you can clean the grill when it's hot and it works fantastic. It's made by Tool Wizard and we got it at Amazon. Get one. In other news the new chicken feeder is working great. With the other feeder the chickens went through three bags of feed in ten days. It's been sixteen days since I put up the feeder and I'd say they have used up one bag and maybe a little more. We are happy. Later.

Baby it's cold outside

BRRRRRRRRR! Or as my Dad used to say "Be careful cause it's colder than Old Billy out there". He never told me who Old Billy was or why he was so cold, but I always believed him.
 Outdoor digital.
 Indoor-outdoor digital.
Regular old thermometer on the deck. Can your freezer do that little girl? I don't think so. I win. (I think)

"FORTY HAPPENS"

It didn't bother me when I turned forty, or fifty, or sixty, but when your kid turns forty, man that's trauma.
So forty years ago this little guy came along to brighten up our lives.
He was always a Vikings fan.
He was always safety conscious, even as a small child he always wore his helmet.
He was always hungry. Very hungry.
He was always thoughtful and looking for answers to the "Big Questions".
He always enjoyed nature, like birdwatching?
He always enjoyed video games and was right there at the beginning.
He excelled at school and got a good education.
 He served his country.
He became a husband, although by the look on his face this may have been confusing, and slightly shocking.
He fulfilled his lfelong dream and became a police officer. First in Northfield and now in Blaine where he is able to arrest people he went to school with. Cool huh?
He became a father, twice and as with his other endeavors does this job well also. Anyway son, we wish you a very Happy Birthday and remember "Age Is Just A State of Mind", or some other such nonsense some supposed "Wise Man" once said.

We Love You

Mom and Dad
